When can I trust my puppy?
QUESTION: If my Bernedoodle is 4 months old and hasn’t been destructive, can I trust her when I’m gone?
ANSWER: NO!!!!! I have found that my Bernedoodles are not destructive but I’m with them all the time and if I have to leave for a few hours and they are less than 2 years old, then they go in their crates. The only time we had any damage was when my son was “watching” them while playing video games. He had not latched the gate going into the bedroom side of the house. A year old puppy went through but couldn’t get back so she scratched up the decorative molding to the hallway entrance. Your puppy is still young and teething so be on your guard and crate train.
Dogs aren’t smart when it comes to chewing or eating things. Please utilize a crate for their own safety. Note: My adult Bernedoodles love to eat Kleenex, napkins, or paper towels. I always make sure there is no food on the counters and bathroom doors are closed so they’re not tempted to get into trouble.
